Is it just me,or is the Elections section on Yahoo answers more liberal, while Politics is ultra conservative?
Filed Under Politics | 5 Comments
Just try to post an answer on this section that favors democrats or moderates. Post a similar answer to a question on Politics, and you usually get 9 thumbs down. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just out of my mind?

Does it matter what one majors in college if one wants to go into politics?
Filed Under Politics | 3 Comments
I am thinking of a double major in French and History but I do have a love of politics. I am content with teachin, however, I do feel that I could do more. I was wondering that if I keep that double major, could I still go into politics? Are there any pre-conditions one must meet to go into politics or could one simply run and if lucky and motivationally strong enough, be elected?

Why muslims cannot separate their religion from politics? the same way church and state goes?

Alot of question why Islam is so tainted with violence and terror? Because for Muslims, their faith is mixed with politics, muslim clerics runs the government, Shariah law are intended for governance, state funds support Mosque activities and religion is funded by government..Can you comment on this?

The founders did not anticipate the dysfunction caused by the bitter animosity between political parties. They were more concerned with balancing the 3 branches of gov’t and to have checks and balances between the legislative and the executive. Unfortunately, nothing in the constitution addresses all of the problems caused by bitter partisan politics and conflicts. How can we amend the constitution to reduce or eliminate partisan animosity in our gov’t and get back to a government that actually accomplishes something for the people.

Why does there appear to be a direct correlation between education and politics?
Filed Under Politics | 7 Comments
Think “college professor” and what’s the first thing you think of politically?
Think “biologist” or “geneticist” and what comes to mind, politics-wise?
Is it just a coincidence that it has been statisitically proven that the more educated you are the more likely you are not to be conservative or vote Republican?
I have no doubt people can cite examples of educated conservatives, but it’s clear that the majority of the intelligensia, the education community and the science community, indeed the smartest people tend to be dreaded “liberals”
Why do you think that is? Far more often than not the only exception to this rule is some leaders of industry (greed) and people who have some kind of moral/religious soap box they are standing on (intolerance)
Explain.

Will GW Bush remain President while the court battles rage over the nomination of Obama or will Nancy Pelosi?

become President until it is resolved?
If the Electoral College can’t confirm the votes,
GW Bush isn’t allowed to stay in office for another term, so does ‘line of succession to Presidency’ go into effect and Nancy Pelosi steps into the void?
