The founders did not anticipate the dysfunction caused by the bitter animosity between political parties. They were more concerned with balancing the 3 branches of gov’t and to have checks and balances between the legislative and the executive. Unfortunately, nothing in the constitution addresses all of the problems caused by bitter partisan politics and conflicts. Is it just a coincidence that it has been statisitically proven that the more educated you are the more likely you are not to be conservative or vote Republican?

I have no doubt people can cite examples of educated conservatives, but it’s clear that the majority of the intelligensia, the education community and the science community, indeed the smartest people tend to be dreaded “liberals”

Why do you think that is? Far more often than not the only exception to this rule is some leaders of industry (greed) and people who have some kind of moral/religious soap box they are standing on (intolerance)
